What We Need
- Transcribe the English audio from each workshop video into an accurate English text script.
- Translate the English script into Traditional Chinese, preserving the original meaning, tone, and technical terms.
- Time‑stamp or align the translated text to the video timeline to simplify subtitle creation.
Background
Kids4Kids envisions a future where all young people are empowered to be changemakers with the belief that they are never too young to change the world. We are looking for reliable volunteers to assist with translation of the Kids4Kids Annual Report.
What We Have
- Source Video Files: Full, unedited English workshop videos for transcription and translation.2) Reference Material: Existing English transcripts (if available) and a sample bilingual subtitle file to demonstrate our preferred format and tone.4) Kick-off Call: A 30-minute onboarding session via Zoom with our program team to clarify project objectives, review the video content, and answer any initial questions.
Why this is important
This project directly supports Kids4Kids’ mission to empower young people to develop social awareness and responsibility by taking positive action in their community. Our current English-only workshop materials severely limit access for Traditional Chinese‑speaking youth, especially those in under‑resourced communities. By transcribing and translating our video content, this volunteer will help us break down the language barrier, enabling us to reach and engage a much wider audience of young changemakers from diverse linguistic backgrounds. This creates a more inclusive and equitable learning environment, which is central to our commitment to equal opportunity. Furthermore, bilingual subtitles will help us scale our impact, attract new volunteers, and secure further support for our programs, ensuring that no child is excluded from the opportunity to learn, lead, and create positive change, regardless of their preferred language.

This project is part of the Swire Trust Go-Givers Program
Swire Trust Go-Givers Program aims to encourage skilled volunteers to support Swire Trust NGO partners in education, marine conservation, and arts.
