Project Details
What We Need
- Prepare delicious meals for fellow volunteers under the guidance of experienced kitchen staff.
- You will be helping others serve global needs by helping to feed our team, who are all volunteers.
- Basic cooking skills required (e.g. chopping, boiling, washing, preparing ingredients etc.)
- Time commitment: Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM. You will be welcome to join us for lunch, and serve in a different department in the pm if you wish.
Background
Crossroads provides vital aid for relief and development in over 90 countries and support vulnerable communities in Hong Kong. By redistributing quality goods and collaborating with NGOs, we tackle entrenched poverty and enhance sustainability. In times of crisis, we focus on disaster response and best practices. We are a crossroads between need and resource.

You will work in our fully-equipped kitchen under guidance and supervision of our experienced staff member.
Why this is important
Food is a basic human need! By preparing meals in the kitchen, you’ll ensure that our volunteer team is nourished and energized, allowing everyone to collaborate effectively to serve those in need.

This project is part of the Swire Trust Go-Givers Program
Swire Trust Go-Givers Program aims to encourage skilled volunteers to support Swire Trust NGO partners in education, marine conservation, and arts.

What We Do
Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together.
- Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply.
- Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor.
- Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power.
- Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
