Assume the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) to serve as the central reference point for suspicious transaction reporting in the company.
Assume the role of Anti-Bribery and Corruption Officer (“ABCO”) to lead the Anti-Bribery and Corruption (“ABC”) function, e.g. provide advisory on all ABC matters, support business and other functional units to conduct ABC enterprise-wide risk assessment etc.
Lead the Financial Crime Compliance (“FCC”) Team to maintain daily FCC operations and provide FCC advice to various stakeholders.
Drive Compliance transformation related projects and implement relevant Compliance programs in the company.
Participate in the annual compliance cycle planning, including the Annual Compliance Plan and performing test plans.
Conduct regular compliance risk assessments, execute the compliance monitoring plan and the related issues analysis, remediation and reporting to ensure adherence to compliance risk thresholds authorized by Governance Committees.
Ensure relevant Compliance Manuals and Policies are updated according to current legislative, regulatory and business requirements.
Participate in initiatives and projects for the Compliance department.
Provide guidance to junior staff on compliance-related subject matters.
Bachelor’s degree in law, business or finance
Previous MLRO experience in insurance companies or banks is highly preferrable
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in insurance, financial services industry or regulatory bodies in legal, compliance, management, or internal control functions
Hands-on experience in trust-related advisory work and knowledge in Bermuda regulations is an advantage
Professional qualification in accounting or law is an asset
Understanding of insurance regulatory framework of different lines of businesses
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, rules and codes of conduct
Solid knowledge and experience of compliance risk assessments including quantification and thresholds, internal control infrastructure and policy/ guideline development
