This is a fixed-term contract position of minimum 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organization need and individual performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in leading design consultants on aerodrome planning and airfield-related projects design to ensure compliance with ICAO recommendations, local design requirements and airfield operation manuals;
- Closely coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that end-user requirements are incorporated effectively into the scheme and detailed design, construction drawings, and specifications;
- Overseeing contractors on airfield infrastructure construction works with monitoring on safety, environmental, quality aspects, as well to ensure that programme and budget requirements are met;
- Assessing construction impacts on airfield operations, including aircraft movement areas, airport height restrictions, NOTAM requirements and phasing arrangements, and recommend mitigation measures;
- Proactively identifying and resolving design and construction interface problems, exploring alternatives with consultants and contractors to deliver effective solutions; and
- Carrying out statutory site supervision duties for airfield infrastructure works in accordance with the statutory supervision requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related disciplines with at least 8 years' relevant working experience, in which at least 4 years' experience in project management;
- Member of HKIE or other equivalent professional bodies;
- Experience in managing airfield infrastructure works planning, design, construction and site supervisory works;
- Experience in design and construction of mega-sized airport related project is preferred;
- Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills;
- Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese;
- Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage;
- Proficient in MS Office applications and project management software tools
