Background

This brand new “Career Relaunch Internship” or called "Returnship" programme is designed for the mature person who would like to return to work after long career breaks. Unlike the student-interns, these interns have past work experience but may face challenges like technological gaps, ageism, and a loss of professional confidence after long career breaks.

What We Have

This is more than just an internship — it’s a meaningful launchpad for your career. From day one, you won’t be sitting on the sidelines. Instead, you’ll take on real responsibilities, lead projects or volunteers / student-interns, and make a genuine impact.Through this programme, you will gain hands-on experience that strengthens your résumé and prepares you for future career opportunities. You’ll also be part of a diverse, multicultural environment, allowing you to build global connections and expand your professional network. To support your growth, you will also receive a reference letter upon completion of your internship. On top of that, we make sure you’re well taken care of — including complimentary lunch every day!Additionally, we provide access to a computer and a dedicated desk space to support their work and help them settle in comfortably. Volunteers will also be supported by approachable and experienced teammates who can guide them, answer questions, and help them feel confident in their role from the start.

Why this is important

After a long break, this programme helps you rebuild confidence and reconnect with a professional mindset, while giving you space to expand your network and access practical workplace insights. It also offers a safer way to “test drive” a new career direction with lower financial and professional risk, and supports your return to work by helping you get up to speed with updated office applications, tools, and systems.

What We Do

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. We believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering, we should do all we can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together.

  • Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply.
  • Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor.
  • Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power.
  • Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
