Vice President – IT
As a Vice President – IT, you will be engaged by Adecco on behalf of a international financial services company with a strong brokerage focus. In this leadership role, you will be accountable for IT governance, technology risk management, and IT audit coordination across mission-critical low-latency trading systems supporting HK/US equities, futures, and options. You will define and oversee controls for data backup, user access controls, and pre-trade risk management, while ensuring that BCP/DR strategy and regular disaster recovery drills are fully aligned with regulatory requirements.
The position combines technology oversight and hands-on risk control, covering cybersecurity frameworks, IT operations, and IT support. This role is suited to an experienced technology leader from a brokerage or banking environment who can manage audits, production safety, and infrastructure reliability in a 24/7 trading context.
What You Will Do?
- Lead IT governance and technology risk management for low-latency trading systems supporting HK/US equities, futures, and options in a regulated brokerage environment.
- Oversee data backup processes, user access controls, and pre-trade risk management while ensuring 24/7 availability of critical trading systems in production.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, track rectification progress, and ensure alignment with all relevant financial regulatory requirements.
- Formulate and maintain IT emergency response plans and procedures, and conduct regular checks on departmental policies to monitor review and compliance status.
- Implement technology risk detection and control measures, investigate production incidents, support root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions that improve production safety and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve matters related to information security, system audit findings, and overall production safety controls across the organization.
- Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, security patching, and new platform deployments, while managing SLA compliance and overseeing IT procurement activities.
- Design and maintain cybersecurity frameworks, including firewall, intrusion detection, and antivirus controls, and enforce user access controls across trading, settlement, and risk management teams.
- Deliver training sessions to promote IT production safety awareness and reinforce adherence to IT governance, information security, and technology risk policies.
- Provide end-to-end IT support across infrastructure, including PCs and devices, servers, networks, Microsoft 365 administration, VPN configuration, and software and hardware troubleshooting.
Your Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, with substantial exposure to IT operations and governance responsibilities.
- At least 8 years of IT operations experience in the financial industry, with brokerage or banking backgrounds strongly preferred due to the trading and regulatory focus.
- Expertise in low-latency trading systems and administration of Windows and Linux servers, Cisco network environments using TCP/IP, and SQL Server and MySQL database administration.
- Demonstrated ability to design and maintain cybersecurity frameworks, implement effective controls, and manage BCP/DR strategy including regular disaster recovery drills and related processes.
- Deep knowledge of financial regulatory standards and expectations, with strong skills in risk identification, troubleshooting in high-pressure situations, and maintaining production safety.
- Programming and scripting capabilities in Python or Java, combined with experience working with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies in production environments.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or ITIL that support credibility in IT audit coordination, information security management, and IT service management best practices
