This role will be responsible for handling contentious matters in relation to construction.
Responsibilities
- Assist in construction-related disputes including claims arising from delay, missing items, variation orders, and bills of quantities
- Assist in contentious matters including claims arising from construction defects; plant and equipment non-conformance; design responsibilities; disputes regarding variations and measured work; claims arising from delay to completion; and disputes in relation to insurance claims
- Assist in town planning and building appeals
- Undertake research and produce clear, accurate findings tailored to specific legal issues
- Discuss and negotiate on basic and intermediate documents and points of law in relation to projects
- Attend client meetings to discuss points of law and gain an understanding of client requirements
- Prepare bill narratives and summarise the nature of completed work
- Ensure appropriate time recording and understand its impact on client billing
- Contribute to the management of the practice area by understanding specialist areas, firm capabilities, and business plans
- Contribute to marketing the firm’s initiatives, particularly within the area of specialisation
- Take personal responsibility for own professional development in line with the Firm’s values and business needs
- Raise professional profile in the industry through involvement with external bodies, as appropriate

Qualifications
- Qualified in Hong Kong (NQ - PQE3)
- Fluency in spoken and written Chinese and English
- Strong interpersonal skills, commercial acumen and client management skills
- Dynamic, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
- A good team player
