Our client is one of the most active data centre developers in Asia Pacific - institutionally backed, operating at significant scale, and in the middle of a genuine growth phase in Hong Kong. They are looking for a Deputy Project Director to sit alongside the head of their delivery programme and help run it.

What the role looks like

You will lead delivery of complex, large-scale data centre projects - from early planning and consultant engagement through power procurement, design management, construction and commissioning. The work spans critical MEP and IT infrastructure fit-out, and base build of new facilities.

You lead workstreams independently, form your own views, make recommendations with clear reasoning, and are accountable for the decisions you make. You do not need to be told what matters most.

Who will thrive here

Around 15–20 years in Hong Kong construction, with real breadth across the project lifecycle - not ownership of one discipline or one package. You see the whole picture.

You have meaningful experience delivering complex critical infrastructure - data centre fit-out, mission-critical MEP, hospitals, casinos, or similar environments where technical decisions have real consequences and tolerance for error is low.

You are technically credible. Engineers respect your read on a problem. You are fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a strong advantage.

You assess situations, develop options, form a view, and bring it forward. You solve problems for yourself and for the people around you.

What this is not

A programme governance role. If your current role involves coordinating the work of others rather than doing it, this is probably not the right move.
