Bradbury School is seeking an Educational Assistant. Working with children in learning activities under the supervision of the class teacher, contributing to creating a language-rich environment by engaging the children in work-related or social communication, and preparing learning materials.

Role

The nature of the role will involve working with children on learning activities under the supervision of the class teacher to whom they are assigned. This will be a Year 1 classroom based role. In addition, the support for student learning will be varied and may involve:

  • Working with children with learning difficulties or who require extension opportunities.
  • Assisting children to engage in experiential tasks, including structured play.
  • Contributing to creating a language-rich environment by engaging the children in work-related or social communication.
  • Preparation of learning materials is an aspect of the role.
  • Supervising children at break times.

Requirements

  • A good command of written and spoken English;
  • Sound behaviour management skills;
  • Relevant experience in schools will be an advantage, but is not essential.
