A BRIEF HISTORY Walt Disney once said, “You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” And indeed it was for Mantra. Mantra started off as a locally-brewed advertising and design shop. Established in 1998 in the midst of the region’s economic turmoil, we discovered an opportunity in the adversity of the times. More than ever, corporations in the region needed a communications partner that would do the work quickly, affordably and yet maintain the level of quality they have come to expect. Mantra was flexible enough to fill this void. We were lean, mean and hungry. NATURAL SELECTION Over the years, Mantra has evolved into different areas of competencies falling within our core purpose to create thoughtful brand experiences.Today we are a group of subsidiaries through partnerships and collaboration providing a full suite of brand communication solutions. Mantra Communications handles the traditional brand communication needs of our clientele. Mantra Experiential takes communication on ground via brand activations and event. Mantra Interactive defines online touchpoints specialising in social media. Collectively, Mantra has the capability of providing a total communication strategy. We began our journey answering the needs of clients in Kuala Lumpur. Today, however, Mantra serves customers in a myriad of different geographical locations – our work ending up in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and of course, here at home in Malaysia. WHAT'S IN A NAME What does Mantra mean? The Sanskrit word “mantra” consists of the root man – “to think” (also in manas “mind”) and the suffix -tra, designating “tools or instruments”, hence a literal translation would be ”instrument of thought”.
